Four ways to train, one studio

Every class runs about 50 minutes. You can move between them on the same membership.

Reformer Strength class at Smart Pilates

Reformer Strength

A full-body class on a premium, full-sized reformer. Controlled, progressive, and the place most people start.

Fuse Ladder class at Smart Pilates

Fuse Ladder

Strength and flow on an apparatus most studios do not have. It is where the variety comes from once the basics feel steady.

Total Body Chair class at Smart Pilates

Total Body Chair

The combo chair asks for stability in a smaller range. Short, precise, and honest about where you are weak.

A reformer carriage and footstraps at Smart Pilates

Sculpt & Sweat

The faster one, using the jumpboard. Cardio without the impact, when you want to leave having worked.

Built for the body you have today

This is Pilates for an everyday healthy life: no boot-camp intensity contest, no clinic feel. If any of these sound familiar, you're who the studio was built for.

  • Stiff mornings and desk-job backs. Long days of sitting undo posture and mobility. The work here rebuilds both, at your pace.
  • Something to work around. An old injury, scoliosis, a return after pregnancy. Tell the studio first and your first session is a complimentary one-to-one.
  • Coming back after a long break. Level 1 sets the foundations carefully, and nobody assumes what you can or can't do yet.
  • Already strong, want a push. Level 3 is genuine fit training. The small-class coaching just means the push is precise.

What the studio does differently

  • Limitations worked with, not around. Classes are taught to the bodies in the room, and the equipment includes pieces chosen to support scoliosis and MS work.
  • Taught by the owner. Aman leads most classes herself, and your goals and limitations get remembered between sessions.
  • Unlimited means unlimited. No monthly class caps and no limits buried in the sign-up.
  • Full-sized equipment. Reformers, combo chair and Fuse Ladder with enough stability and range for every body type.

Meet Aman

Aman owns Smart Pilates and teaches most of its classes. She came to Pilates through her own back injury, and built the studio for people other studios overlook: every age, every body type, and every starting point. Tell her what hurts and what you want back, and the work is built from there.

Aman is incredibly knowledgeable and very polite she makes sure that her students have correct form without being intimidating and offer modifications for all levels. The studio is spotless, well-equipped with reformers and small props, and the class sizes are small enough that you get personal attention. I've already noticed better core strength, posture, and less back pain.

She is able to push you but also genuinely wants to get to know you and any limitations you are working through. In a matter of a few months, I have seen progress that I couldn't even get to with over 250 classes at a different reformer Pilates studio.
Jessie Ha KongGoogle review
It is an inclusive studio: all ages, men/women, all abilities and even those with injuries. Prices are in line with or lower than most in the community.

Frequently asked questions

I have never done Pilates. Is this the right place to start?
Yes. Every class is taught at the level of the people in the room, and the instructor gives you modifications as you go. Start with the free 30 minute intro, on the reformer or the Fuse Ladder, and you will be shown the equipment before anything else happens. Regular classes run 50 minutes.
What if I am working around an injury or ongoing pain?
Tell us before your first class. Smart Pilates offers a complimentary one-to-one session built around individual conditions and movement limitations, so the work fits what your body can do right now. The studio also has equipment chosen to support scoliosis and MS work.
Is this a rehab clinic?
No. Smart Pilates is a Pilates studio that welcomes bodies with something to work around: a desk job that left you stiff, an old injury, scoliosis, or a return after pregnancy. Classes build strength for everyday life, and if you want harder training, level 3 delivers it.
What do the levels mean?
Classes run at three levels. Level 1 sets the foundations at a careful pace, level 2 is the standard class, and level 3 is genuine fit training for people who want the push. You are placed where you will get the most out of the hour, and you move up when you are ready.
What does it cost?
Nothing is hidden. Four classes a month is $120, eight classes is $192, and unlimited is $310, all in Canadian dollars. Every package includes every class type. The 4 and 8 class memberships run on a 3 month commitment and renew monthly, with credits valid for 30 days. Your free intro class comes before any of this.
What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable and confident moving in. Grip socks are the only thing you need on the reformer, and the studio has them if you forget.
How big are the classes?
Small enough that the instructor corrects your form by name. Clients mention the personal attention more than anything else in their reviews.
Where do I park?
There is a free lot at 5353 Lakeshore Road and free street parking around it. The lot is wheelchair accessible.
What is the difference between the classes?
Reformer Strength is a 50 minute full-body reformer class. Fuse Ladder adds strength and flow on a different apparatus. Total Body Chair works the whole body on the combo chair. Sculpt & Sweat is the faster session, using the jumpboard.
